A spectra of obsidian geometrica
Floating in elliptical orbit
Around my auric palms
Psychobabble of useless curses channeling through ruki
pacifying her talk with fingers inserted
alarms and sirens blaring
unifiers frantically searching for their goddess
a societal panopticon focusing on her whereabouts
undetected by eyes and psi-surveillance
ruki and I phasing through the physical
in ether form we storm for their ivory tower
as we arrive, so does an oversight
the whore does know her place
she attaches herself to her captors
salivating, awaiting their command
physically and psychically restraining me
flung into a black cube to deplete my energies
using this time to think of an escape
as they ready their equipment
for lobotomy and to mend my severed psi connection
I listen to their whisperous thoughts
Planning to have me replace ruki
To manufacture a womb and hole to fill
To destroy my worth and will

This is my favorite album by Mexican death metal stalwarts The Chasm, by a wide margin. All the meandering, proggy excursions of previous releases have been brutally curtailed in favor of mountains on mountains of riffs, and the result is a release that is tighter and more focused than any of their output in the last decade+.
Consider my interest renewed. Patiently awaiting the next one. Ghuughra

This is no mere imitation of what came before, but an honest effort that aims to build upon the ideas which the greats of underground metal laid down decades ago. No trendy bullshit to be found here-if you're looking for something meatier that requires a little more effort to wrap your head around than the dreck you've been hearing lately, this should be at the top of your list! Please, if you love this, go listen to the 2002 December Wolves album "Blasterpiece Theater" - this is less crazy than that, but a spiritual (no pun intended) successor!!! BookendS
